2012 April 17 - Morning Manna

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. (1 John 2:3-6)
Today's Morsel: Do you really know Jesus, or are you just acquainted with Him? Many people say that they know Him when in reality they are only acquainted with Him. You see when you know someone you know something about them. You know where they live. What their likes and dislikes are. You know their favorite color, what things will make them angry, and even their favorite foods. Many people says that they know Jesus, yet they refuse to keep His commandments. John said, "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." Do you know Him or are you just acquainted with Him? John also tells us, "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth"(1 John 1:6); And he also tells us again, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth"(3 John 1:4). Because Jesus is the truth ( John 14:6), if we say that we are Christians, then we should be walking the same way that He walked because we are to know Him. Do you really know Him? "Who do you say that I Am," Jesus asked? The Apostle Paul wanted all the churches to know who Jesus was and so he wrote, "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory" (1 Timothy 3:16); "Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost" (1 Corinthians 12:3). Without the Holy Ghost you'll never know who Jesus is, you will only be acquainted.
Sing: The Mighty God is Jesus! The Prince of Peace is He! The Everlasting Father! The King Eternally! The Wonderful in Wisdom! By whom all things were made, the fullness of the Godhead, in Jesus is displayed.
It's all in Him! It's all in Him! The fullness of the Godhead it's all in Him. It's all in Him! It's all in Him! The Mighty God is Jesus and it's all in Him!
