2011 April 26 - Morning Manna

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound. For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this. When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever: But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore. For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me. The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. (Psalms 92:1-15)

Today's Morsel:  Most pictures we see that represent a unicorn are often white horse like with a horn located in the top center of its forehead. Its horn is round at the base and pointed at its tip.  The horn symbolizes strength and power.  The horn on the unicorn is his weapon of protection.  It's located upon his head.  Like the Unicorn, the helmet of salvation is the protection for our minds.  When our minds are stayed on Christ Jesus, we are kept in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3).  We win with our head.  The way we think when we are facing trials, circumstances, and problems will determine if we win or lose, it is all based on our minds.  When we allow the mind of Christ to be in us (Philippians 2:5), and renew our minds (Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 4:23), and think on good things (Philippians 4:7-8), we are sharp and ready for battle.  Solomon said that as a man thinketh in his heart so is he (Proverbs 23:7).  The psalmist understood the strength of the horn of the unicorn, and so he said, "But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil."  Fresh oil was to be brought to the temple daily for the light (Exodus 27:20-21).  Paul said that we are the temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).  Therefore, when we are anointed with fresh oil daily, we burn bright, our light shines forth of Who is inside of us, and our strength is renewed like the unicorn.

Sing:  Anointing, fall on me.  Anointing, fall on me. Let the power of the Holy Ghost fall on me, anointing fall on me.

  1. I am cool with the page and fine with it being an open page. I only bring it up because there was recently a thread on the page discussing the open nature of the page. During that thread it was pointed out that the church opted not to operate a facebook page and so several congregants began and administer the page. There seemed to be a lot of folks who were surprised or had forgotten that the page was unofficial.
