The Thing Is Known
“And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went
out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian
smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren. And he looked this way and that way,
and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the
sand. And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews
strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou
thy fellow? And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest
thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said,
Surely this thing is known.” (Exodus 2:11-14)
Today’s Morsel: During the
Vietnam War, many men left the country or went into hiding because they did not
want to go to war. Sad to say, many of them are still running and living in
fear of being captured and having to face the consequences for their
actions. After Moses killed an Egyptian, and he found out that it was
known, he feared and he ran. He said that surely this thing is
known. Would you run and go into fear and hiding if others were to find
out things that you have done wrong in your life? Well, you don’t have to
hide or fear. Scripture says, “Therefore if
any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed
away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17) Paul said, “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he
counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer,
and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it
ignorantly in unbelief.”(1 Timothy 1:12-13) Moses, like Paul himself, found himself in the ministry.
God has a purpose for your life, do not fear because of mistakes and things you
do in ignorance. When you repent, God will get rid of the guilt and
fulfill His purpose in your life.
Sing: He knew me, yet He loved me, He whose
glory made the heavens shine. I’m so unworthy, of such mercy, yet when He
was on the cross, I was on His mind.
Thought For Today: Fear will torment if
you are not made perfect in love.
