“When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?”
(Matthew 16:13-15)
Today’s Morsel: Everything in the life of a believer of Jesus Christ flows from them understanding who Jesus was. This question must be clearly and fully understood by them, or they will always struggle in their walk with Him and desire to quit. The revelation of Him is only given through fellowship, study, church attendance, and communion with Him. When people backslide and walk away, it’s because of a lack of knowledge of Him. When Jesus told his disciples, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you…Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, this is an hard saying; who can hear it?... From that time many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. (John 6:53, 60, 66-69). When there is knowledge and a clear understanding of Christ, you won’t walk away from Him. It’s only through a lack of knowledge and understanding that people walk away and destroy themselves (See Hosea 4:6, 1 Corinthians 15:34).
Sing: The Mighty God is Jesus, the Prince of Peace is He, the everlasting Father, the King eternally; The wonderful in wisdom, by whom all things were made. The fullness of the Godhead in Jesus is displayed.
It’s all in Him, it’s all in Him, the fullness of the Godhead is all in Him; the mighty God is Jesus, and it’s all in Him.
Thought For Today: Knowledge is powerful.
