Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. (Hebrews 5:7-10)
Today's Morsel: There have been many books written about salvation. And there are many sermons preached weekly about salvation. But only one book reveals the truth about salvation, and that is the Bible. Even though the Bible was written by man, it was inspired by the Holy Ghost (2 Peter 1:20-21) . The writer of Hebrews lets us know that Jesus Christ became the author of eternal salvation unto them that obey Him. When we obey the word of God, the Bible, we are obeying Jesus Christ, the word made flesh (John 1:14). As Peter admonished when questioned, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Therefore, we must look unto Jesus who is not only the author and finisher of our faith, but also our eternal salvation.
Sing: Saved! Saved! Saved! I'm happy on my way. Saved! Saved! Saved! I love Him more each day. Saved! Saved! Saved! I know He's mine each hour, for He saves and He keeps and He satisfies me by His Power.
Thought for Today: The Bible is still the number one best seller.
