Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. (Proverbs 14:1)
Today's Morsel: The Bible lets us know that the woman is to be the keeper of the home (Titus 2:5); and Solomon says, that every wise woman buildeth her house. The Psalmist also tells us that except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it (Psalm 127:1). When we look at these three passages, they let us know that the wise women must set in order in her home the things of God. She must ensure that the principles and teachings of God are implemented in her home. She is the keeper of her home's atmosphere. She must be alert to not allow anything that will destroy her home to enter it. This is why she is to be the keeper. In olden times, the married woman did not work outside of the home; her home was job. She was to ensure it was kept up, clean, and neat for her family. She ensured there was an atmosphere for the presence of God at all times. But today, the principle of good housekeeping seems to be missing for many and I can't help but think that this is contributing to divorce, rebellious children, stress, and unfaithfulness in the land. A wise woman still builds her house.
