2013 July 5 - Morning Manna

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;  (1 Timothy 2:1-5).

Today's Morsel: How much listening do you do when you pray?  Do you do most of the talking.  I'm sure most of us would agree that when we pray, we do most of the talking as we are seek God for answers or making intercession for others.  Paul enlightened us to some of the things we should pray for.  He said,"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."  Notice, he said that we should pray for those in authority that we might lead a quiet and peaceful life with honesty and holiness.   If those who are in leadership over us aren't living and doing right, we'll never have peace and morality. God wants people to know the truth, Paul said.  Revelations are often given from God during our pray times.  If you ever want to know truth, spend quality time listening in prayer.  Jesus will reveal Himself to you during these times.

Sing:  Someone is praying for you! Someone is praying for you! When you feel all alone, and your heart would break in two, remember, someone is praying for you.
