2010 October 9 - Morning Manna

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves" (Matthew 7:13-15).

Today's Morsel:  If you've ever seen the movie "The Wizard of Oa", Dorothy is told that to find the wizard, the one who could show her how to get home, she must follow the "Yellow Brick Road."  In order to get home, she had to follow the instruction, stay on the Yellow brick road, and it would lead here where she was trying to get to.  How many times have we received instruction, but, yet chose our own way of how we will do it?   Instructions are for a purpose.  They are designed to ensure that we do things the correct way, and to also get us to where we are trying to get without getting lost or encountering danger.  Jesus had just told his follower, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves" (Matthew 7:13-15).  His instructions were clear.  But even today, many do not heed His instructions, and they are still following false prophets and wolves in sheep clothing.  Jesus said that not everyone who calls Him Lord will enter the kingdom. But only those that obey His Word. The Word is the instruction to get us on the straight road that will lead us to and through the gates of pearls and onto the streets of gold.  Are you heeding the instructions.

Sing:  Turn your eyes upon Jesus.  Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of this earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.
