Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2024 December 28

Jesus Is All I Need

“And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.” (Mark 5:24-34)

Today’s Morsel: The older I get and the more church that I attend, and the more that I read my Bible, the more the stories that are written come to life even more. The story of the women with the issues of blood has always fascinated me, because of its great revelation of faith. Her story resonates with so many today. Many today are suffering with issues that seem to have no answers. Many have spent all their earnings on doctors and are only getting worse. But this woman, when she was told about Jesus, seems to transfer her desire from man to heal her, to faith in Jesus’ ability to heal her. For she said that if I may touch His clothes, I shall be whole. How did her faith become so strong having never met Him by all accounts? And there is no indication that she knew Him. Scripture only says that she had heard of Jesus. That lets me know that someone told her about Him, and she believed within herself that if she could just touch His clothes, she would be made whole. What faith. I don’t need to touch Him; I just need to touch His clothes, she said (my wording). And when she touched His garment, not only was her blood condition was gone but Jesus made her completely whole again. Friend, can you believe as she did that if you touch Jesus, you too will be made completely whole?

Sing: Touching Jesus is all that really matters, and your life will never be the same.  For there’s only one way to touch Him, just believe when you call on His name.

Thought For Today“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” (Mark 9:23)
