Jesus, The Only Savior
“And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.” (Luke 2:21)
Today’s Morsel: The name Jesus means, “Jehovah is salvation.” Jesus stated that His mission, wrote Luke: “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10) Throughout scripture, we read that God is our salvation: “The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.” (Exodus 15:2); “The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.” (2 Samuel 22:3); “In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.” (Psalms 62:7); “For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.” (Psalms 74:12); “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.” (Isaiah 12:2). But Peter tells us, when questioned about the lamed man’s healing, in Acts 4: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ is the only one that can save because He is God. As He told Moses: “And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.” (Exodus 6:3) “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.” (Isaiah 43:10-12) Jesus, no other name given under heaven whereby we must be saved.
Sing: The Mighty God is Jesus, the Prince of Peace is He, the Everlasting Father, the King eternally, the Wonderful in wisdom, by whom all things were made, the fulness of the Godhead in Jesus is displayed. It’s all in Him, It’s all in Him, the fulness of the Godhead, it’s all in Him. It’s all in Him, it’s all in Him, the Mighty God is Jesus and it’s all in Him.
Thought For Today: “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” (John 8:24)
