Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 10 February 2020

Hatred
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.(Proverbs 10:12)

Today’s Morsel: “Hatred corrodes the container that carries it”, said Senator Alan Simpson at President George H. W. Bush’s Funeral.  What we allow to enter us will either corrupt us or help us.  Jesus said it’s not what goes into a man that defiles him but what comes out.  Solomon states that hatred stirs up strife, but love cover all sins.  A person whose heart is full of hatred and malice against another will stir up arguments and disagreements.  He does this by tale-bearing, whisperings, and evil surmises; by raising lies, spreading false reports, and slanders. But he said that love covers all sin.  Love is willing to forgive people of their sins.  Are you willing to forgive others?  Jesus says, “A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.(John 13:34-35)  We should never allow anything to enter our heart that will cause us to become corroded.

Sing: You’re my brother, you’re my sister, so take me by the hand.  Together we will work until He comes. There’s no foe that can defeat us when we are walking side by side, as long as there is love, we can stand.

Thought For Today: You always reap what you sow.
