Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2018 December 27

“And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”
(Luke 2:6-7)

Today’s Morsel:  Some have questioned why royalty would be born in a stable with animals.  Some have questioned why God, who knows all things, did not have a place for His Son to be born.  Well, He did have a place.  It was the place that He was born!  In a stable. Why you may ask in a stable?  A stable would show that He would be humble.  It may represent that the first Adam was placed in the garden among God’s creation by him. And because Jesus Christ was the second Adam, he would need to start among God’s creation afresh and anew.  And now Paul said, “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly” (1 Corinthians 15:45-49).  God always has a plan and His plan is perfect.

Sing: He rules the world with truth and grace and makes the nations prove; the glories of His righteousness, and wonders of His love, and wonders of his love, and wonders, and wonders, of His love.

Thought For Today: “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life” (1 John 5:20).
