Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2018 December 15

“But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons” (Galatians 4:4-5)

Today’s Morsel: I can always tell when Christmas is getting closer.  You may say, "How do you know?" Well, my wife keeps track.  As soon as Christmas passes, she says, "It’s only 365 days until Christmas."  And the countdown and anticipation begins!   Paul writes that when the fullness of time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law to redeem us.  If there had been a man, Isaiah said, that could have brought righteous and salvation and deliverance from sins for us, there would not have been a need for God to come.  But he said, “And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him” (Isaiah 59:16).  There was no one qualified to stop evil and sin from destroying mankind, and so Jesus took on the role for us. Thank God for His amazing grace.  Do you anticipate sharing His story with others this season?  Jesus is their hope for tomorrow.

Sing: God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus.  He came to love, heal and forgive.  He lived and died, to buy my pardon, an empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.  And because He lives, I can face tomorrow, because He lives, all fear is gone.  Because I know, He holds the future, my life is worth the living just because He lives.

Thought For Today:  Neither is there salvation in any other but Jesus.
