2014 December 20 - Morning Manna

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this
(Isaiah 9:6-7).

Today’s Morsel: Probably one of the most exciting times for married couples is when they have planned for a child, God grants their wish, and that child is born.  The psalmist said, “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward” (Psalm 127:3).  Isaiah prophesied, “Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.”  So to whom was this child born?  To the entire world.  This child belongs to everyone.  He’s very special. He’s wonderful.  He’s great, and He’s going to do great things for us.  He’s a counselor.  He’s going to become a therapist.  He’s going to be able to diagnosis every area that is wrong in our lives and give us advice on how to get it fixed.  He’s the mighty God, the everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace. He’s going to be the one who brings peace into the storm of your life.  He’s going to be the one who calms the raging seas of doubt, uncertainty, despair and fear in your life.  He’s the one who spoke the world into existence, who gives life to all, and who saves man from his sin.  He was God manifested in flesh (I Timothy 3:16).  This glorious child that was given is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ.  No other description or such wonderful words could have identified Him. What do you call Him?

Sing:  Joy to the world! The Lord is come; let earth receive her King; let every heart prepare Him room, and heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing, and heaven and heaven, and nature sing.

Thought for Today: Jesus will still reveal Himself to those who seek Him with a pure heart.
