Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2026 October 30

Do You Love The Lord?

“To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD, who spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said, I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” (Psalms 18:1-3)

Today’s Morsel: Having a love for God can change everything about you and who you are and what you do. The first commandment the children of Israel were taught was: “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” (Deuteronomy 6:4-5) Scripture also informs us: “And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” (Exodus 20:1-6) Notice how God expresses what a relationship with Him should look like. Jesus said that you can’t serve two, for either you will love the one and hate the other, or you will hold on to the one and despise the other. If we love God, He will show mercy unto thousands of them that love Him and keep His commandments. David said I will love the Lord, my strength. How much do you love God? Do you express your love for Him in your life, actions, and conduct? To love God is to place Him before anyone and everything else in your life.

Sing: I love You, Lord, and I lift my voice to worship You; O my soul, rejoice, take joy, my King, in what You hear, may it be a sweet sound in Your ear.

We exalt Thee, we exalt Thee, we exalt Thee, Oh O Lord; we exalt Thee, we exalt Thee, we exalt Thee, O Lord.

Thought for Today: “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)

  1. Amen! Thank you Brother Parker.

[14] For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: [15] and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”
    2 Corinthians 5:14-15 KJV

I have often been in despondency, but then Jesus reminds me somehow of how much He loves me, and it gives me strength to get up and go on.
