Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2016 December 12

“And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed” (Luke 1:42-48).

Today's Morsel:   When we look at the Christmas Story, many fail to understanding the picture that is being painted here with Mary. What was going on here?  How was Mary going to conceive without knowing a man?  We all understand that it takes a man and a woman to birth a child.  The angel Gabriel told Mary, "The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."   This miraculous birth was done by the Spirit of God.  The word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us (John 1:14).   Remember, Mary had to have the seed planted inside her to conceive.  The seed is the Word of God (Luke 8; 1 John 5:7).  Don't be confused with the natural, this message has a spiritual application.

Sing: Mary did you know that your baby boy would someday walk on water?  Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?  Did you know that your baby boy had come to make you new?  This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know that your baby boy would give sight to a blind man?  Mary did you know that your baby boy would calm a storm with his hand?  Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?  And when your kiss your little baby, you've kissed the face of God.

Oh Mary did you know ?
The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will walk again.
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the Lamb.

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?  Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?  Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding is the great I Am.

Thought For Today:  Miracles still happen!
