Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2016 February 2

The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
(Psalms 46:7-11)

Today’s Morsel:  Patience is one of those things that few seem to possess these days.  We complain if the lines are too long.  We complain if the cashier has to do a price check for an item.  We complain if the traffic is backed up, that is until we see the condition of the vehicles that were in an accident and then we pray thanking the Lord that it wasn’t us.  Hmmm!  The Lord said, “Be still and know that He is God.”  We have to learn how to possess patience and not to allow unrest control us.  Let me give you three ways to “Be still” and wait on God.
1.) Put your trust in God and lean not unto your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6);
2.) Practice unselfish behavior (1 Timothy 4:12); and
3.) Exercise temperance (Proverbs 25:28).  Now is the perfect time for you to learn how to "Be still and wait upon God".

Sing:  They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint, teach me Lord, teach me Lord, to wait.

Thought For Today:  Come apart and rest a while or you’ll come a part.
