Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:1-10)
Today's Morsel: A story is told of a man who died and went to heaven. As he was being led to his room, he was passing by many doors. He asked Peter what was in all those rooms. "Oh, you don't want to know," said Peter. They passed room after room. Finally the man said to Peter, "I've just got to know what's in this room, it has my name on it." And so Peter says, "Alright, I'll show you." When he opens the door, there were many boxes that filled the room. The man was so surprised to see so many boxes with his name on them. He asked, "What are in all these boxes?" Peter said, "Well, you kept praying asking God for gifts, but you just kept moving and would not remain in one place long enough to receive them and so they were returned." Like this story, so many people pray for God to do things for them, but they don't give God the time to respond to their request and they move on.
Jesus said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber." No one can come in without passing through Him. How did you get into the fold? Did you come through the correct door? Solomon says, "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death"(Proverbs 14:12). Just what did you find when you came through the door? Did you find love? What about mercy and truth? What about joy and compassion. Did you locate and see integrity, grace, passion, long-suffering, faith, kindness, and self-control? If you saw none of these when you entered the door, quickly get out because you've entered the wrong one.
Sing: Beyond the open door is a new and fresh anointing, hear the Spirit calling you to go. Walk on through the door for the Lord will go before you, Into a greater power you've ever known before.
