How To Overcome Injuries
“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” (Matthew 5:11-12)
Today’s Morsel: Dealing with hurts and injuries can sometimes seem impossible. But Jesus knew that as His people we would face them in our life. And so He tells us what to do when they come. He said to rejoice! Rejoice you say? Yes, rejoice. Now you have a right to rejoice, Peter said, as long as your suffering isn’t of your own doing. “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial, which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part, he is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.” (1 Peter 4:12-15) The apostle Paul would also admonish us to rejoice in the Lord always. He said, “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again, I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:4-7) So, there you have it. You can be an overcomer in your hurts and injuries if you learn to rejoice.
Sing: Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice! Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice! Rejoice, rejoice, and again I say rejoice! Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice!
Thought For Today: Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus.
