The Day Salvation Came To Your House
“And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:1-10)
Today’s Morsel: Do you remember the day that salvation came to your house? Do you remember the day that you were born again of the water and the Spirit? I remember it like yesterday. It was September 2, 1985, in Wiesbaden Germany, our church was Schloss Frauenberg, one of Hitler’s old Officers Clubs. It was there on that Sunday, where I was baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of my sins, and He filled me with the Holy Ghost, and He called me into the ministry. That day has been etched into my mind. That was the day that salvation came to my house. Forty years ago, and it’s still refreshing daily as I walk with Him and tell others about Him. Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus. And so, because of the crowd and his height, he climbed up into a tree so that he could see. But Jesus, knowing all things, looked up into the tree, calls him down, and tells him that today he would abide at his house. Zacchaeus climbs down and when Jesus comes into his house, he repented of his sins. And Jesus said that salvation had come to his house. Jesus is our salvation. And anytime He is in the house, there ought to be a change of hearts to where folks see their sin, repent of those sins, and come to Jesus for their salvation. What day did He come to your house? It’s not too late for you to invite Him in. Salvation can come to your house today.
Sing: Have you been to Jesus for His cleansing power, are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are you washed in the blood, in the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb? Are your garments spotless? Are they wash as snow? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Thought For Today: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
