The Battle Is The Lord’s

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Revelation 19:11-16)

Today’s Morsel: Are you looking forward to being a part of that last battle with the Lord? Just think, we get to conqueror Satan and his demonic forces. Just to be riding on white horses dressed in find linen, clean and white behind Him to war. But of course, we don’t have to wait until then, Jesus has already given us power to tread over Satan and over the forces and power of the darkness that are out there before us. The problem is most don’t know what they have already been given that power to fight with. Paul said that the Word of God is the Sword of the Spirit. It is sharp. John said that out of the mouth of Jesus goeth a sharp sword. That’s His Word. This is why the writer of Hebrews informs us: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12) If folks would start using the Sword that God has already given them, the devil would be defeated and they would be overcomers, not feeling all depressed, stressed, and feeling defeated. Peter could have cut Malchus’ head off with his sword. But he only cut off his ear. And I think Jesus may have had something to do with that. And that was to show Peter that He could defend Himself with His own Word.

Sing: Shout with a voice of triumph, shout with a voice of praise, shout with a voice of triumph, shout with a voice of praise, shout to the Lord for the victory, hey, hey, give the Lord a shout of praise.

Triumph in battle, we are victorious, God is most high over all the earth. Jesus has conquered, Satan’s defeated, the enemy is under our feet.

So, I will shout with a voice of triumph, shout with a voice of praise, shout with a voice of triumph, shout with a voice of praise, shout to the Lord for the victory, hey, hey, give the Lord a shout of praise.

Thought For Today: “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” (Ephesians 6:17-18)

And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God. And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat (Exodus 16:10-15).

“Morning Manna” is a short daily devotion which began in 2002, with just a short note of encouragement to a friend who was facing difficulties at the time. Through their response, I was encouraged to begin a daily devotion via email and send it to people who asked to be put on the distribution list. It is now reaching around the globe. Its birth came about during Morning Prayer. The Lord revealed to me that I should forward my friend a word of encouragement, since it is through patience and comfort of the scripture that we find hope. Thus, I forwarded him the words the Lord had given to me for him, and he forwarded it on to someone else who was having difficulties in their life as well, and thus the original list began.

The goal of “Morning Manna” is to provide people with a quick, thought provoking Word from the Lord, as well as provide encouragement from His Word that can help them through the day and during unexpected trails and circumstances in their daily lives.

Several years ago, Jesus moved on my heart to start writing daily devotions; thus began “Morning Manna”. Today, many people are receiving these daily devotions and many of these people are forwarding it on to their family and friends. It is my hope to encourage even more through posting the devotions to this blog-page.
