Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away. I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor? (Isaiah 51:11-13)
Today's Morsel: One of the things that Jesus spoke, was that no man knows the minute or the hour that He would return. Many people have been deceived into thinking that Jesus was going to come on a certain day or at a certain time. And many of these people have become heart-broken and disappointed when it didn't happen. Listen, God is not the author of confusion. He's a God of peace. If you are living daily according to the Word of God, you should never be afraid to die, and you shouldn't be focusing all our time wondering when He's coming back. Jesus came to give you life and that more abundant. An abundant life and a joy-filled life. A life of excitement. The more we serve the Lord, the more excited we should be. I've heard people say, "I'm not afraid to die, I just don't want to suffer." Didn't Jesus suffer? Doesn't scripture tell us that if we suffer, we shall also reign with him (2 Timothy 2:12). Isaiah said, "Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away." We have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we should be singing and having joy upon our heads. There should be no sorrow and mourning within us, because the joy of the Lord is our strength. Stay focused and know that Jesus is your comforter and Lord!
