Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2026 May 27

Dissatisfaction

“The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough: The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.” (Proverbs 30:15-16)

Today’s Morsel: When would you say enough is enough? Is there one thing that will make you satisfied? Solomon states that there are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, it is enough: The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, it is enough. But are you satisfied or do you want more. Paul informed Timothy: “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” (1 Timothy 6:6-10) What would you do with more? Would winning the lottery satisfy you? Would a bigger and better home satisfy you? Would a bigger church satisfy you? Would seeing old friends satisfy you? Would having your family living close to you satisfy you? Solomon states: “All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.” (Ecclesiastes 1:8) The eye wants to see more, and the ear wants to hear more. So, is there a place of satisfaction? Yes, it is in Jesus Christ and Him alone. For He is our peace.

Sing: He’s all I need, He’s all I need, Jesus is all I need. He satisfies, my need He’ll supply, Jesus is all I need.

Thought For Today: Only Jesus can satisfy your soul.
