Turn Around or Suffer The Consequence
“A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.” (Proverbs 27:12)
Today’s Morsel: The story is told of two priests that were standing along the roadway with a sign that said, “Turn Around”. But people kept driving past them and then their cars would just disappear. Finally, after many cars kept disappearing, one of the priests said to the other, ‘Do, you think we ought to change our sign to say, “Turn around, the bridge is out?” Sometimes, if you don’t give folks the full message, they may lose their life because they don’t understand the message. Solomon states, A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.” One who has wisdom and discernment will stop and consider the evil that they see before them and will either take a different route or avoid it all together. Many people are incarcerated and in jail or prison because even through they saw the evil, they chose to participate in it rather than avoid it. Paul tells us that in the last days, evil seducers will wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. He told the church at Thessalonica to abstain from appearances of evil. Therefore, we must remain alert to ensure that we do not fall into their evil traps. When we feel that unction from the Holy Ghost to avoid certain places and people, we must not lean unto our own understanding, we must obey.
Sing: Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.
Thought For Today: “But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;” (Ephesians 5:3)
