Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 31 May 2019

Who Told You?

“And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?” (Genesis 3:9-11)

Today’s Morsel:  When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden by eating the forbidden fruit, they hid themselves.  And when God called for them, Adam said that he heard the voice of God and that he was afraid, and he hid because he was naked.   To which God asked him “Who told thee that thou wast naked?”  God had never told them they were naked and so He wanted to know who told them.  What about you?  Who told you that you are not good enough to serve God?  Who told you that God doesn’t love and care about you?  Who told you that you’re no good?”  Who told you that you won’t be accepted in a certain church because of your skin color?  Who told you that there’s no hope for your wayward children?  Who told you that you can’t receive God’s Spirit?  Friend, if God didn’t tell you, then don’t except it.  It’s a lie from the pits of hell.  Who are you listening to?  Only listen to the voice of God.

Sing:  Whatever you need, God’s got it.   Whatever you need, God’s got it. So, whatever you need, God’s got it, He’s got it, and He’s waiting to give it to you.

Thought For Today: If God didn’t say it, don’t believe it.
