2011 May 14 - Morning Manna

And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations. And thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering or sacrifice, And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the LORD; even that man shall be cut off from among his people.
(Leviticus 17:7-9)

Today's Morsel:  Because many folks have become so accustom to the world's systems, cable companies now offer packages that include internet, phone, television, movies on demand, etc.  Because folks have become accustomed to all the features, it's cheaper to purchase the package/bundle instead of just what they may actually need such as phone or internet.  And because so many purchase the package/bundle, they are now finding themselves having to spend their hard earned money to pay for the package/bundle for things they don't use. Thus, sacrificing their tithe and offering unto the devil.  Most people who say that they don't have anything to give to the Lord and His Kingdom and work will tell you, "I need my phone, internet, and television."  Is it really a need or is it a want?  Paul said, "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ" (2 Corinthians 11:3).  Satan is sly, slick, and cunning, so you better watch out for him.  The Lord said that we should not sacrifice to devils.  We must sacrifice our sacrifices and offering unto Him. "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you" (Hebrews 13:15-17).  Let me encourage you today, learn to live with the needs and not the wants, and learn to live within your means.  It will simplify your life and you probably won't find yourself sacrificing to the devil.

Sing:  We bring the sacrifice of praise, unto the house of the Lord! We bring the sacrifice of praise, unto the house of the Lord! And we offer unto You, the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and offer unto You, the sacrifices of joy.
