2011 June 3 - Morning Manna

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:1-4)

Today's Morsel:  Mohammad Ali, one of the greatest boxers of all times, would always shout, "I am the greatest."  Because few had beaten him in boxing, he held the world heavyweight boxing championship for many years.

If someone were to ask you how great is your God, what would you tell them?  Paul said that we should be ready to give an answer to everyone that asks of the hope that is within us (my wording).  During Israel's departure from Egypt, all the nations of the world during that time were afraid of them because they knew how great a God the God of Israel was.  Even the harlot who hid the spies that Joshua sent out to spy out the land told them, "I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath" (Joshua 2:9-11).  They knew how great God was just by what they had heard.  James said, "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble" (James 2:19).  Friend, you are serving a Mighty God and there isn't anything that He cannot do.  If the devils are afraid of Jesus, image how they feel about you who have His Spirit dwelling within you.

Sing:  How great is our God?  How great is His name?  He's the Greatest One, forever the same.  He rolled back the waters, of the mighty Red Sea, and He said, I want to lead you, so put your trust in Me!
